Meet the Artist
Shania Leigh is a Perth-based Artist working across painting, sculpture, and scenic surface design. Her practice explores material, scale, and atmosphere, translating both natural and cinematic references into physical form.
Shania has a strong love for landscape painting, particularly rural environments shaped by farming and cultivation. These works draw on themes of place, labour, and memory, often incorporating natural materials and layered surfaces to reflect the physicality of the land.
Working primarily in oil painting and hand-finished sculptural surfaces, she brings a focus on texture, colour, and realism. Alongside her fine art practice, shania has developed experience in large-scale scenic painting and prop finishing, applying traditional techniques to theatrical and cinematic environments. Her interests extend into mural work and immersive visual spaces that aim to create atmosphere and evoke emotional response.
Shania has completed three years of Fine Arts study, specialising in oil painting. Her work has been exhibited as a finalist in the City of South Perth Emerging Artist Award, and her Mixed Media painting Meet Me at the Windsor was acquired by a Member of Parliament, where it is now held in a private collection within Parliament House.
In addition to her studio practice, Shania is an experienced commission-based artist, having produced and sold over 1000 custom works across watercolour and oil painting. Her recent work extends into photography, environments, and live performance through portrait, street, and tour-based imagery.
Based in Perth, Western Australia, Leigh works both locally and Globally, and is available for travel and relocation. Her practice continues to expand across fine art and commercial applications, with a focus on film, theatre, and large-scale creative production.
